Hectic weeks demand a super-simple plan
Hi there,
Thanks so much for all your excitement around the preorder announcement last week. Today I’m adding a new gift as an extra thank-you: I’ve created a podcast series you’ll get access to, where I take you behind the scenes. And don’t forget that if you order by the end of the week, you’ll get a personal shoutout on the preorder page.
If you haven’t ordered your copy of GRIP yet, you can take care of that at gripbook.com. Here’s my thread with a bit of backstory on the book, in case you missed it last week:

Last week made clear to me yet again how true this statement is: Stress and the idea that you have a massive amount to do starts to melt away once you actually get going. So get started. I then ask myself: What can I get done in the next hour that will ease my mind and take some of the pressure off?
Stress is often also linked to feelings of doubt. Am I going to be able to pull this off? Is anyone even interested in my work? Steven Pressfield calls this Resistance, with a capital R. And it takes everything we’ve got to push that Resistance aside. Steven sees it as “a load of crap” that only gets in the way.
For me, the best thing to do is simply get to work.
Sometimes stress comes from having so many loose ends in your head. And as much as I love using to-do apps—your brain is not a storage device—at moments like that I tighten my focus and skip the to-do lists. I fall back on a super-simple list in a no-frills program. Whenever I feel a wave of stress roll over me, I pull out that list and make sure everything’s on it.
Last week, my list looked like this:
What do you do when the stress hits? If you have something that works for you, I’d love to hear about it. I’ll share a selection of your tips in a future newsletter.
Have a good week,
Rick
